Agenda AGENDA for Technical Meeting, Cornell Club, New York City, Sept. 4 and 5

Thursday, 4th Sept.

8:30 am - Sign in.  NetNames will have someone to greet latecomers.

9 am. - Antony Van Couvering gives a short presentation setting out what
the meeting is supposed to accomplish.  Also, to focus us, to present what
constraints and guidelines the CORE-MoU presents us with.

9:15 am - Presentations by vendors and/or interested parties who wish to
"pitch" an idea.  Limit: 30 minutes - 20 for presentation, 10 for
questions.  The presentations should be short overviews of the issues,
*not* necessarily the solutions to problems.

So far we have:
1. Alan Sullivan
2. Nominet (?)

Noon - lunch

1:30 pm. - A panel consisting of not more than six people sets out what our
"action items" are.  These would be the major areas, some of them
problematical, that we need to solve before we can come up with an RFP.
This would build upon work done at the Munich meeting and by
panelists/participants between now and the meeting.  Panelists to be
decided, but probably to include: Kent Crispin, Perry Metzger, Rob Austein
(the new iPOC member from IAB), Javier Sola.

4:30 pm - Antony Van Couvering gives a summary of the day's accomplishments.

Evening - We all go out somewhere.  NetNames will book a space. Cash bar,
sorry.

Friday, 5th Sept.

9 a.m. - Antony Van Couvering gives very short introduction.

9:15 am - Continuation of discussion of action items.

11 am - Election and formation of group to go off and write RFP based on
this event's discussions.  Group should be blessed by iPOC and PAB Chairs.

Noon - lunch.  RFP Group should have lunch together to discuss their
concerns and plans.

1:30 - RFP Group holds floor and presents its concerns and solicits
comments from the rest of the attendess.

To be achieved in this session:
a. Deliverable date of RFP for internal circulation
b. Deliverable date for vendors
c. Open discussion on questions still unanswerered to RFP group's
satisfaction.
d. Discussion on any points of contention
e. Compilation of list of policy items that need to be resolved in order
for technical work to continue to be sent to iPOC/PAB for quickest possible
resolution.

4:30 pm - Summary and further action.  For instance: is another meeting
warranted?  Wrap up by Antony Van Couvering.

Evening - Those of us left go out and drink and do our post-mortem on the
event.
