Let the games begin
Folks,
With this note, the iahc-discuss is now enabled for open
discussion. For those of you now on the list, here is the "greetings"
message that will be included for new subscribers:
Open Discussion: iahc-discuss@iahc.org mailing list
----------------------------------------------------
The iahc-discuss mailing list serves as a public forum for the open
discussion of issues being considered by the International Ad Hoc Committee
(IAHC). The IAHC charter states:
"The IAHC is an international multi-organization effort for specifying and
implementing policies and procedures relating to iTLDs." It is tasked with
resolving assignment and management aspects of international Top Level
Domain Names (iTLD), such as .com, .edu., and .org.
Participants are urged to review IAHC material at
http://www.iahc.org, including the group's charter. The material also
includes references to a number of other mailing lists that relate to the
Domain Name Service. The IAHC is attempting to meet an aggressive
schedule; this necessarily constrains discussion on iahc-discuss to matters
specifically part of the immediate IAHC tasks. For other Domain Name and
international Internet discussions, please refer to these other mailing
lists.
Proposal Submission: iahc-submit@iahc.org address
--------------------------------------------------
Anyone with a proposal to be considered by the IAHC is requested to
send a copy of the specification to iahc-submit@iahc.org. The documents
will be made publicly accessible via the Web through the IAHC home page.
Proposals should provide describe the considerations which motivate
the proposed solution and should then provide detailed specification of the
proposal. Please format the proposals according to the rules for
Internet-Drafts. Also, plese submit the proposals as text-only (.txt)
documents (no Postscript, no word-processing formats).
