I dont know about the rest of you but the thought that to register a
domain I would have to deal with a comission of the United Nations
scares the living daylights out of me. Lets remember how this got
started and why it has been a huge success. It was all because the
governments were kept out of it and by the time they realized what was
going on this took on a life of its own.

I don't know about the rest of you but having to deal with a commision
of the United Nations scares the living daylight out of me. Let's take a
step back and remenber why this experiment of the Internet has worked
out so well. It because this had nothing to do with politicis or
governments. Yes it started as a govement funded project but it was left
to be until it grew to such a dimention that it had a life of its own.
Do you think we could have gotten anything done if this would have
started as a UN project!!!! I don't think so. When you involve the U.N.
you involve politics and governments many times take positions that have
no relevance to the issue at hand, many of these actions are purely
intended to send signals. Do we want to be caught in the middle of these
fights. I would suggest caution whe walking down this road.
