To draw an apropos analogy, you can also build a flat network consisting
several hundred thousand end-systems, but it doesn't mean it will scale
or that performance will be acceptable. I personally think that adding
"10,000 new TLD's" is an absurd assumption, and that managing this name
space would be an exercise in futility, but that's just my own opinion.
Frankly, I don't see any major discrepancies in the current scheme, but
than again, I can also sympathize with people who would like a *couple*
more TLD's to accommodate well-known names which might be associated with
their business or organization.
This certainly merits discussion.
