Re: 10,000? 1,000. (was_Re: First come/First served)

Folks, let's be realistic...

Any proposal that does not recognize those who are CURRENTLY running
registries is asking for the IAHC and all related organizations and
individuals to be:

1)	Ignored.
		and
2)	Sued.

It matters not whether the "prexisting" domains are named .COM, .NET, or
.CORP, nor whether this "theft" happens tomorrow or in two years. NSI has
as much claim over .COM as we have over .CORP; if you doubt this assertion
then try to pull their franchise for malfeasance of duty (which is easily
arguable due to their imposition of fees ex-post-facto on 100,000
domain registrants!)

In all cases these TLDs are operated by real organizations and have real
customers. There will be real damages if someone tries to steal them from
those who have put in real effort and infrastructure.

Real damages generally equate to real problems.

I don't care if people like it or not if and when I bring this up. The real
world is the real world, and pretending its not so won't change the facts.

I'll have lots more to say on this with a formal draft, but right now I'm at
Comdex in Vegas and doing this over a Laptop. I don't believe that anyone
hasn't already heard my position on this before, and a rehash can certainly
wait a couple of days.
