The NSF is bankrupt for christ
sakes. The world is entrusting
all of it's Internet Domain Name
registration to what is virtually
an extension of US Foriegn Policy.
This is completely and totally
unacceptable. We, the people who
live other nations of the world
will not tolerate this much longer.

Well the undefined root "."
is sort of like inviolable.
It can't be owned by anyone
without everyone suffering.
So it will be held in trust
and, as long as this trust
lasts, people will be content.
The meta-registry could serve
to safeguard "." as well. One
thing we all may agree on is
that Internic/NSI trying to
be the de facto savious of "."
and the meta-registry and all
Domain Services worldwide is a
totally phucked and wandering
idea.
We need dozens of NICs. We need
an international, non-profit
meta-registry. We need somewhere
to safeguard "." Let's get on with
it shall we?
