Paul Vixie as well as others has stated that if nothing is done,
then he and others will just go ahead and do whatever is needed
to relieve the pressure to open new iTLDs.  Then we have a 
situation which is irreversible.  It is not the IAHC which 
wanted to do this in the shortest possible timeframe - it 
was/is the collective Internet community that is beating down
the door for a solution.

More delay.  Believe me, the IAHC would love to work under less
of a strain and a tight schedule - but just read some of the
newdom lists and just ask here - "Do you want to wait till March
1997 for a solution or until August 1997?"
