Perhaps they don't propose changes because they realize, as I think
many people do, that the problem is far larger than your proposal
imagines:
Problem: Get to the top of Mt Everest.
Higg's solution: Let's excavate all around the mountain to lower the top.
Simon asks: "Why don't people propose changes to my solution to make
it work?"
That's just a fanciful fable to illustrate a point, of course. The
point is that the easy solution to the TM problem is to ignore it and
let trademark holders battle it out in court. A real solution would
require international treaties (climb Mt Everest).
