A bit more on the technical/implementation side of things.
As I see, regestries are compromised of the following subsystems.
o Datastore
o Index or (r)Whois
o Mail queue
o Template parsers.
In the implementation of a shared regestry the Mail Queue and template
parsers reside on the domain name allocators site and connect to a central
database which manages the indexes (whois) and the main Datastore.
The implementation I will release on monday will be for a non-shared TLD
opperator. I will then subsquently release s suite of java progeams
that allow offsignt connections to the ddatastore. The java programs
will include template parsers so that the regestry could be percived
as a shared regestry.
If the above is way of track of what we are talking about here, please
tell me so I won't waist mine and others time writing this stuff.
