I to do not wish to have potential
registrants left in the dark. However
if .FCN or .WTV are to be shared the
people who are running these services
and fronting the start-up and maintainance
expenses must be the ones controlling the
various other partners in the process.
We are not in a position to allow IANA
IAHC or anyone else to jeopardize our
plans with incompetant management from
afar.
.FCN (Free Community Network) will serve
community networks, non-profit organizations
and political groups worldwide. I will *not*
have the Internic or any other government or
profit motivated enterprise having *any*
control or influence on registrants - ZERO.
.WTV will involve news, information and
creative outlets of the emmerging Web TV
media. I will, again, not allow government
or other corporate NIC's to be involved or
to interfere in the process in any way shape
or form. NONE. Period.
*HOWEVER* ... I am perfectly willing to
have multiple partners world-wide such as
Aveek and his co-workers. They must, however,
be willing to abide by the terms and conditions
.FCN or .WTV must present in order to "share"
in our TLD space and serve our clients in an
unbiassed manner. For example we will never
publish names and addresses or phone numbers
of our registrants - unless authorized to do
so. This is to protect the privacy of our
clients. More examples will be provided if
requested.
We are not talking about a .COM free-for-all
in these small TLD's. They are defined spaces
with rather special purposes. And neither .FCN
nor .WTV will be run to generate profits in the
traditional capitalist sense of the word. The
revenues generated from .WTV will be used to
fund the .WTV registration and name server
facilities. An additional fee will be added
to all .WTV Domain Name charge designed to
underwrite .FCN completely.
WE ARE NOT IN THE TLD BUSINESS TO MAKE A BILLION.
.WTV AND .FCN ARE NOT CAPITALIST ENTERPRISES BUT
PUBLIC SERVICES INTENDED TO BENEFIT CITIZANS NOT
TO SUCK THEM DRY OR LEAVE THEM STRANDED. I DO NOT
BELIEVE IN THE PROFIT MOTIVE NOR IN FREE ENTERPRISE
AND SUPPORT SOCIAL JUSTICE, COOPERATION AND A
COMMUNAL, PEACEFUL NON-EXPLOITING EXISTANCE.
Thank you.
