I strongly disagree. It is not up to us to pass value judgements on names.
If it were up to my gut feelings we would yank domain names from spammers
and we would not allow domain name hoarding and we would push everybody into
a deeper hierarchy and we would force individuals to register in domain parks.
But noone's gut feelings, mine or yours or anybody's, should dictate whether
a name is available. In fact the entire IAHC effort amounts to making sure
that folks can "usually" get some name that they will "want." COM et al are
failing at that goal.
We're trying to make the network easier to connect to and to use so that there
will be more people getting more use out of it. If you think that domain name
hoarding is a threat to that goal, then how about approving a couple hundred
new iTLD's and make it a lot harder to hoard "interesting" names?
More, bigger, better, faster. Please.
