I would tend to agree here as well, but call your attention to the
following:

Of course I still think .com should be an SLD under every ISO TLD. 
Though I know it wouldn't be popular, so I have pretty much given up on
it, I don't think there should be any TLDs other than ISO TLDs. 
Registries should work off of SLDs under country TLDs.  For example
.com.us and .com.ca and .com.int.

In this way, browsers and utilities could be "nationalized".  In the US,
ibm.com would be mapped to ibm.com.us.  If I wanted to go to (this is
made up) International Bank of Munich, I would go to ibm.com.de.  All
internet utilities would use environment variables or configuration to
determine what the appropriate default ISO TLD should be.

This solution would also remove quite a lot of potential trademark
disputes.  Any thoughts for my radical idea?
