Coming from Canada, wehre we have excatly that, I .... rhink
we need both.
I used to have a company under .ca, and, for the large subsidiary
I worked for, created a .com domain, as we were doing far more
business across the border than within Canada. In fact, our
customers were in the U.S., England, and Saudi, followed by
Canada.
When we were reorganized and our marjetplace shrunk, we switched
back to the .ca domain, where we are now (I'm not there anymore,
circa the time of said reorganization).
I **think** this really means the international part of
the parent company should have established and maintained one or more
.com domains for the company. Then there would have been the
option to have a web presenmce at <name>.ca, <name>.de and
<name>.com, depending on who the company wanted to do business with.
