The postal analogy works because the act of parsing is closely coupled
to the act of routing/delivery.
That is only partially true for iTLD. Most times when we infer meaning
from the sub-strings in FQDN, zealots argue we are deluding ourselves.
However in human factors terms, I think you offer one good example of
why solving a machine-legals issue (10,000 iTLD) will be a problem for
people (rule-of-seven and short/memorable) and procedures.
