You fail to address one very important point: there is, already, a
registry for the existing iTLDs that is enjoying a monopoly, and is
making quite a bit of money.

There are those who feel that the business aspect of this shouldn't be
considered, but I put forth that it cannot be ignored. There are a number
of companies and individuals who would like to compete with NSI, and
the only way to do so is to create more iTLDs.

To fail to do this would create a situation in which the fighting would
escalate, legal methods would be initiated, and NOBODY would win.

The solution is to create more iTLDs, open the namespace for competition,
and reach an agreement between all parties such that there is no need for
fighting, legal action, or fragmentation of the Internet over this issue.
