Based on various forums and lists that I have followed, I had always
assumed that the Internet community did *not* want government
intervention, ala Singapore or China. Has this sentiment changed?
Inviting "official" govt reps means you open the Internet to govt policy,
which includes censorship and taxation (if you think there is censorship
and taxation now on the Internet, imagine if every country's gov't owned
and ran the Internet!).
Be careful what you ask for - you may get it.
