While your post was hopefully intended as humor.. I'm sure given a little
bit of time I could get several thousand people (through ML.ORG) to protest
the commercialism of the DNS system. Most of these people have no problem
reading some email, sending some, etc. However, sending $35 (or $25) to some
organization to have their voice heard...
I've only registered two pieces of shareware in nearly a decade of
computing. One cost $10, the other cost $20. I am that cheap. So is a lot of
people. The registration fee is not outrageous, but a lot of people don't
want to pay one red dime. And that's their right, which is why I try to
stick to my guns on never charging for basic domain name services.
