I never suggested taking choices away from anyone. I merely suggest
that iTLDs unecessarily create potential conflicts, while requiring new
domains under country TLDs reduces international conflicts. Do you
propose we let the iTLD namespace go the way of the alt newsgroups? I
mean, after all, if we don't we will be taking choices away from people!
I don't think you really want to give people this big a choice.

Well, I guess you told me. But seriously, ignoring NSI policies(which
are daft), if I want memra.com and feel I have a right to have it, where
is the dispute settled? You are in canada, I am in the US. Now CA and
US may be a special case, and actually have treaties in place. But
where will the suit be heard?

Of course if you were memra.com.ca and I was memra.com.us, there would
be no dispute. If another memra.com popped up in Canada, there would be
no question as to where to settle the dispute.

Are you a lawyer? Have you worked closely with government officials
involved in international dealings?

You claim to no intimately about the inner workings of the legal systems
in all developed countries, and yet choose not to point out where I have
erred. I promise not to be ashamed or embarassed, I stand ready to
absorb your great knowledge. Please, master, teach me.
