Hasn't Rick Wesson been regularly reporting his results to this list in
developping CORBA apps to run a registry?

Then it's not terribly relevant to what IAHC is doing. In order to set a
a standard we will need a free implementation of the software.

This is a myth. If it was true we would just let large companies run the
world's governments and not bother with democracy. In reality, commerce
does not drive the world, rather it responds to the needs of people.
Companies who refuse to listen to their customers soon find themselves
left behind.

That's why the IAHC is trying to draw comment from as many different
people and groups as possible to craft a responsible policy that will
improve the situation yet maintain the stability of the existing network.
