When I was financing my home, the mortgage lender ran a credit check
on me via a credit reporting agency. I had to pay for it. It cost me
$50, which is typical. A corporate report might be more expensive,
but I cannot imagine it being much more so.

Speaking strictly objectively, how could someone run a registry
with less connectivity? There has to be a minimum level of
connectivity. Our extensive research on this point before going
operational with .web was that a single T1 was just below the
threshhold of acceptability, while 2 T1 lines seemed a reasonable
level.
