Chris,
	In general it is *very* hard to figure out the level of 
consensus on a mailing list.  Looking back only a very small %
of the total members of this list have voiced any opinion on most
of the topics here.  I'd say that most of the postings have been
from a small handfull of people.  I can not see the justification
of your above statement - you can say that "most of the posters who
have expressed an opinion on the topic think" or something like that but 
but not that there is a consensus one way or the other.
