Thread 4: Selection of gTLDs

The IAHC draft says that they will choose 7 new gTLDs that will be
shared by the new registrars. Why 7?

My proposal is that each selected registrar (be it by lottery or not,
that's up to debate) select their gTLD(s). Be it 1, 2, 3, or however
many. This allows the registrars to have some control over the
gTLDs that they will be trying to make a living on. The IAHC, in
reserving selection for themselves, is dictating business practices
to the registrars. At a minimum, if not the registrars, then CORE.

So, the final proposal is that each registrar select the gTLD(s), and
all future gTLDs are selected by CORE.
