This really illustrates a lot of the problem with the commercial
interests. I read Hank's message and it was written at 2 pm in the
afternoon on Christmas day. This is NOT bright and early. The Internet is
a global network that reaches over a hundred countries in every part of
the world. From where I sit, Hank is located one third of the way around
the planet from me. No doubt the writer is surprised that someone would be
doing email on such a special day as Christmas morning. But Hank is
writing from Israel, a country in which Christmas day holds no special
significance. Even in my household where both my wife and I are descended
from Christian ancestors, Christmas morning is nothing special. We light
the candles on our tree and distribute the presents just after dusk on
Christmas eve so Christmas day is the morning after.

It's a big wide world out there and I highly doubt that the IAHC is going
to put American business interests at the top of their list.

What about France and Germany? What about China and Japan? What about
Niu Gini or Burkina Faso? There are many countries in the world and they
all need the DNS in order to effectively use the internet.
