Dave,
Well I could go along with this $20,000 amount if there were some
provisos reguarding refunds with intrest, disconnection on the
perposed 60 day waiting period, and modification there of, and
the lottery selection process. I would be willing to go along
with that if excepted.
Let me say, I have no problem with the lottery process. But
when you tie it to the amount, without refund or total plus
intrest minus a $2000.00 non-refundable registration and handeling
fee. Also the waiting period of 60 days is too long for that
amount to be tied up on this type of process. If we handled our
customers in that manner, we would be out of buisness shortly.
I think the problem possibly that the IAHC is facing is a funding
one, from the indications that I have read from yourself and others
on this list. My question is, do you have any other outside
funding other than the collection of fees of this nature? If not
why not? I think I could come up with at least $2m in outside
funding without a problem, without impending on the independant
nature of the IACH. So I see no reason why the IEHC cannot do the
same. Much of the funding could be raised from your site as well
as from universities and private industry, not to mention individuals.
Therefore, fees of $20,000 would not be necessary.
Regards,
