Chris
I am sure your intent is simply to provide input to the IAHC that represents
your thinking, and that of those who would sign-on to your draft. That will
undoubtedly be helpful. However, I believe Perry is talking about process.
I too have a concern. This list is now about debate and comment on the
IAHC draft. If you introduce a draft that for which you are asking people
to comment on, and are using this list, it will simply confuse the process.
I would encourage you to present a consolidated position to the IAHC, but
would discourage using this list for a separate discussion of a separate
draft.

Perry, the goal isn't to produce a finished text, but to present to
the IAHC a draft, based on the IAHC draft for completeness' sake,
that represents rough consensus amongst the participants of this
list. What you do with that is up to you, though I hope that it would
be seen as a serious recommendation of this group.
Whether I'm biased or not is irrelivant - the draft is up there for
all to see and comment upon. If only 4 people sign on to it as something
that they support, then that's what you'll have: a draft which represents
the position of 4 people. I can only try to get as many as I can.
Sure, I have a stake in this, perhaps larger than most.
Call it motivation, then, to see this process through.
Stop trying to discourage me, Perry, you are only strengthening my
conviction that you've already made up your mind and are inflexable
on these issues. Consider it noted.
