Which part, the "advertising medium" or "sustainable in the long
term"?  If the former, perhaps an inappropriate assumption based on
your analogy.  Apologies if so.  If the latter, how many trademarks
are their in the world?  How many of those can be mapped into a single
flat namespace?  Finally, why bother if there exists a directory
system that allows people to translate a trademark into a (perhaps
non-mnemonic) domain name?

I thought you had stated on shared-tld a while back that you had based
your business plan on the assumption you would have exclusive use of
the .WEB domain and that you did not believe you could make money on
.WEB unless such you obtained such status.  Further, your staunch
support of exclusive domains lent support to such an assumption.  If
such is not the case, again my apologies.
