Okay, so we have some messages from Bill Manning and the notes from
the meeting. What we don't have is a tape of the meeting. In the
absense of that, we have many witnesses. I fail to see the relevance
here.

At the risk of being repetative (though there seems little recourse):
The point is simple, and I'll state it once again. Image Online Design
asked Bill Manning, as a representative of IANA, if we could go ahead
with our .web registry as operational testing while we waited for the
postel draft to be finished and approved. We were told yes. We would
like very much to work with IANA and the IAHC to see this through, and
we are even willing to compromise on the issues of sharing, and will
work on the other issues as well. The final outcome, however, is that
we fully intend upon being a registry. If this means defending our claim
to .web as an exclusive registry, we will. This is completely in the
hands of the IAHC and IANA at this time, as we continue to work towards
compromise up until the final draft is published.

I believe I could not be any more clear on our position.
