You are implying a fixxed cost to run the back end regestrie. I believe
this is what the NSF granted NSI. When the desire for domain names increased,
NSI needed to build out its infracture. To do this they started chargeing.
Ask some of the NSI folks how much they spent in the first few months after
they started charging. I think is was on the order of several million.
What I am asking is in the face of exponential growth will this fixxed cost
scale? Is there any costs to growth? What if this growth is exponential
how does the back end regestrie build things out if it is nessassary to do
so. Or should you just let service degrade till the CORE kicks in more
money.
