Welcome Kathryn...
I look forward to receiving your posting. Please allow me to share a few
thoughts...
The 60 day wait should be abandoned...it primarily serves the interests of
trademark lawyers at a huge expense to the rest of the Internet users. It
would be similar to a business having to wait 60 days before the local Bell
could assign a business name to a new business telephone number.
The Domain Name Rights Coalition may wish to address the question of
whether users should have the right to choose their own gTLD, assuming that
in so doing, no detriment comes to the infrastructure. Why should IANA or
IAHC be empowered to restrict the user to choosing from only those gTLDs
that are sanctioned?
and by the way...it's nice to have the playground mixed...I look forward to
your contributions.
