You misunderstand. I don't mean the registrars should have no role at all;
I mean that the domain name owner is in control. The domain name owner
decides which registrar to use, they submit the changes to the registrar,
the registrar checks to see that the information is complete, consistent
and applies whatever policies CORE has set. They may reject information
for some reason and ask the domain name owner to fix the problem. But once
the registrar has accepted the data and submitted it to the central
registry, I want the registry to hold that transaction until it is
directly authorized by the domain name owner. This would involve the
central registry sending a key to the user and the user resubmitting the
key to the registry to indicate approval. It would not involve any other
exchange of data.
