Wouldn't the appropriate answer from Doc to the patient be:
Out of 800 operations like yours that I've performed at this hospital, 796
operations were successful, where the patient survived and 4 operations
were unsuccessful, where the patients died. The statistical odds that you
will not survive the operation is one in 200.
