Hmmmm, who has the root password? Who is in group 0? Though you SAY
IANA controls the root, NSI actually makes the updates. Also remember
that IANA's control of the root is contracted by NSF, so I would expect
IANA to honor the request.
It just goes to show who's really in charge -- the US government. At
the end of this "NOI" they may say "gTLD, have at it", they may not, we
will have to see, since I still don't see anything happening with the
gTLD or any of the 7 TLDs in the roots I think I can safely assume the
accuracy of what I read. You can keep insisting all you want, but I
reserve the right to believe you only when I see it happen.
BTW, when are the 7 new gTLDs going to be opened up for application,
ignoring of course the pre-registration activity going on at NetNames et
al.
