To my understanding, the files were not pulled as a direct result of Eugene's
actions. They were pulled to prevent spamming from certain businesses who think it is prudent to mail webmaster@ all of the said domains and other excellent forms of abuse.
In addition to this, Eugene used a hole that the underground community has known about, and been quietly exploiting for months, he just did it in a very loud manner. If anything, this brought much needed attention to something that needed to be fixed.

Hello? It's NSI. If you don't call, fax, and pester them they wont get back to you until 2014.

Eugene did not break anything. If he was out to cause harm, with a hole the size of RI like this, he would have.
If you really needed to visit NSI's website go to it via IP, the old fashioned way.

A renegade? If it weren't for people like Eugene, things that suck would never change. Kudos as far as I'm concerned.

About NSI not pulling the alternic record.
NSI is not stupid. Pulling alternics record would be A Bad Thing(tm).
