It's a real infrastructure that nobody, barring Eugene's escapade,
pays any attention to. All indications were that the eDNS/AlterNIC
etc names were resolved by less than one percent of the nameservers
in the world.
You have a physical infrastructure, but so what? The IAHC Open DNS
registries have an internationally based legal infrastructure, and
buyoff from the relevant internet bodies -- IANA, in particular.
Bottom line is, Marc, the physical infrastructure you talk about is
the trivial part.
