the new gTLD registrar hardware requirements.

hi,
i read all about the gTLD new registrar proccess, and this subject is 
very intresting.
i just wonder, what is needed to operate this kind of project:
1. what kind of computer ? (Alpha ?) and how much computers ? (do you 
need a computer for backup ?)
2. what kind of operation system ? (unix ? NT ?)
3. the computer running only the BIND software or anything else ?
4. is T1 connection is good enough ? or you need more than that ?
5. the 'existing domain name' is an existing server or for applying the 
application form it's good enough to have your own domain name in 
someone else server.
