Not too sure what you're getting at here. CORE is a non profit organisation
that has a member from each registrar (or something like that anyway). As a
non profit organisation it can't make a profit.
Why would the registrars want to artificially beef up the price that CORE
will charge them (if that's what you're suggesting) instead of keeping to
themselves as much as they can? It's also against the interest of those who
register more names to have CORE overcharge
(if CORE has 2 member, "a" registering 1 name, and "b" 100 names, and
charges $1 more than it should, then CORE will find itself with $101, but as
it's equally partnershipped between "a" and "b", it's essentially "b" giving
"a" aprox $50, forgetting of course the non-profit side of things, that
CORE would now have the problem of what to do with the cash, and that the
registrars can't get at that money anyway without doing considerable
financial juggling).

In more or less the same way, nominet=uk registrars, but that doesn't stop
nominet from going as low as it can, does it?

Please clarify.
