Wait, who is "we" here? Are you in some position of "power"? You may not
like Bob Allisat, but he's entitled to be a part of this discussion as much
as you, as much as Perry Metzger for that matter.

I don't know who you are or what kind of inside connection you have to "the
top most people" (or even who they are--presumably iPOC?), but I have a
feeling that Bob Allisat is already in as close contact with iPOC (via this
list) as he wants to be.
The best way to be "in contact with the top most people" is to make
intelligent suggestions and comments in a place where the people you're
trying to reach--as well as the interested parties who are trying to reach
the same people--can read them. That's the point of this list and the others
like it. Attempting to curry favor from "superiors" is not any way to have a
meaningful impact on the Internet.

Agreed. But it also does not do any good to tell people to shut up and
listen to iPOC because Jon Postel indirectly created them. I respect Jon
Postel, and I respect many of the people in iPOC and PAB. That doesn't mean
I can't disagree with them, or point out my disagreements. And that doesn't
mean I inherently hate anyone who doesn't respect them.
I also don't see why Jon Postel, Perry Metzger, or anyone else should be
able to give Bob, or you, or me "the power," or why anyone would listen (or,
for that matter, why they'd want to do so even if they could). "The power"
is an abstract quantity that is owned by the community as a whole. It can be
usurped by dictators, entrusted in representatives, or exercized directly,
but recognize where it comes from. If it weren't for all of the people on
the Internet, the Internet wouldn't matter.
