Well, that's why you can't say to a registrar not to charge whatever they
want. That's free enterprise. If you put a cap on the price (believe this
has been gone over time and time again) then that's price-fixing.
The registrars are already complaining about each other, and that's how it
should be. They are in competition. You will see a downward pressure on
prices.
The safeguard is existing law against anti-competitive pricing, and the
keen interest of each registrar to get the others' customers.
