Don't forget:

"So Network Solutions has exclusive control over the root zone file,
and under the United States law, that is considered an essential
facility. And anti-trust law in the United States states that, when
a monopoly has exclusive control over an essential facility, they must
allow access to the competition on a non-discriminatory basis, provided
it's feasible. If you recall MCI v. AT&T, AT&T used to be the local,
actually the phone monopoly, and MCI wanted access to the local switch
so they could have direct client access to their long distance network.
They won, and it broke up AT&T. PGMedia versus Network Solutions is
virtually a carbon copy of MCI v. AT&T. History shows us what the
result of that was, and I think the impending history will prove that
namespace is in position to do the same thing to Network Solutions.
That is, break up and decentralize a name service. "
