Dave, give us a break. Really. You suggested that a move from California
to Virginia was on a par with a move from the US to Switzerland. I
rubbished your theory. You then want us to consider why they made the
move from California to Virginia. Who cares? What is the significance
of their motives?
What matters is the practical result of the move.
The fact is that a move of the .com registry from California to Virginia
would have a trivial effect. Virginia is in fact closer to the demographic
centre of the USA, so the effect would be a very small improvement, if
anything.
As I said earlier it is a waste of time to talk about the motives of the
IAHC in placing CORE in Geneva. It is much more meaningful to talk about
the practical effect: 97% or so of .COM registrants are Americans.
Those Americans love to sue one another. Why are you jacking up their
legal bills? Why are you exporting all of these legal disputes to Europe?
If CORE is to take over .COM, CORE has to justify the move to Geneva -- or
move itself back to the States.
This is not an academic question and this is not a done deal. CORE can
be transferred to North America with no great difficulty. If CORE wants
to take over com/net/org, it should move to North America.

You of course are an expert on the totally irrelevant. Got a problem with
a question? Just insult the questioner.

You think that a Delaware lawyer would not agree with me when I say
that the California legal environment is a flakey relative to that on
the East Coast?
Give us a break, Dave.

Notice that Dave considers a claim that a question has been answered at
some point in the past equivalent to answering the question. Bizarre.
> Try doing some research before raising yet another bogus line of attack, Jim.
I must admit that "try doing some research" is a minor improvement on
your usual "do your homework" refrain, but the improvement is very minor
indeed.
Try answering a question or two, Dave, instead of replying with the usual
personal attack.
