Dave, my note was strident, yes, but characterizing it as 'nasty'
encourages diving right back into the quantity of ad hominem attacks that
have so dominated this topic. There is nothing nasty in my saying that I
think you don't understand or your saying that you think I don't
understand. If we attacked each other's motives or basic competencies,
that would be different.
If you are going to try to discount my comments, please attend to the
content rather than use an emotional and hostile wave of the hand.
I will freely acknowledge that I am espousing a particularly strong opinion
from a particular "extreme" position in the space of current discussion.
However the note in question does not dive into individual or
organizational personalities, although there is a different line of
discussion about Tony Rutkowski's and NSI's peculiar efforts with the
so-called GIAW in which I very much DO consider such issues. But not the
note you characterized.
Since you have been forceful in indicating a desire for conciliatory tone,
your cause it not helped by using such language.
