Re: Protest proposed phone company Internet charges
Just for info to one and all...this is one of those phenomena of messages
that circulate over the Internet and, like the Internet itself, cannot die.
It's a really old concern that died at least a couple of years ago if not
more. However, because the Internet is the bottomless void that it is,
periodically this message (and others like it) will be "discovered" by
someone and put back into active circulation.
There are some good sites that deal with myths, outdated messages, chain
letters, virus and other hoaxes, the urban legend stuff, etc. A good site
to start from is http://www.ih2000.net/ira/hoaxes.htm. It has links to
sites that deal specifically with these issues. A good rule of thumb is to
disregard any message with the exhortation to PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE
YOU KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and everyone they might know).
