Individuals, Institutions, and Commercial concerns, will never
readily accept this redundant form, of arbitrary categorization.
I thought the main goal, was to keep miners, from randomly accessing
pornography on the Internet?
The concept, of creating a zone specifically, for pornographic
sights is a good one, that I feel will be generally accepted, by the
majority of Internet users.
Concentrate on solving the problem, of regulating pornographic
sights, and leave the other categories, to sort themselves out.
I find it incredible, that someone, as ignorant as Barry Steinhart,
could rise to the position, of associate director of the ACLU.
.
He worried that all sites of a sexual nature, like
AIDS
information sites, would be included under the new
domain name. "All sexual speech will be lumped into
the
'.xxx' domain. There's a lot of people who object to
speaking frankly about sex."
To think, that publishers, of AIDS information sites, or other
sexually transmitted disease information sites, would not want to take
advantage, of being put, in direct proximity, with their indented
audience, is wholly absurd. As to the "people who object to speaking
frankly about sex" (People in denial.) Why would they be going to a
site, with an implied sexual origin in the first place ?
The solution to the problem, of randomly accessed pornography on
the Internet consists, of two parts. The first part is designation, and
the second of regulation.
Creating an 'xxx' domain is an unnecessary waste of time, since the
mechanics already exist in address suffixes. Instead of ( www.expletive
deleted.com ) it could be designated ( www.expletive deleted.xxx )
Regulating sites with 'xxx' content, is in my opinion best left, to
the primary service providers. It's logical to assume, that the people
purchasing Internet access, from Service Providers, are of an adult
age. At the time of their sign up the customers can be giving the
option, of blocking all access, to sites, with an 'xxx' designation, or
be required to choose a PIN number, that would function, as a password
to 'xxx' sites access.
Thank you for your consideration.
That's all for now.
O.O.
