PAB Postel's passing

For those who have not heard, Jon Postel passed away the night before last.
 He had a chronic heart problem, including surgery in 1991.  I'm told that
his passing was pieceful, athough he had been in the hospital since early
October.  

Vint Cerf, the current chair of the ISOC Board of Trustees, has announced
his plans to create the Jon B. Postel Service Award in Jon's memory.
Indeed the nature and extent of Jon's community has rarely been adequatey
recognized.
